Junior Robert Kanniard earned his 2nd State Medal, finishing as the runner-up at 160-pounds at this year's State Tournament. He finishes the season with a record of 45-1, tied for the single season high for wins in a season in the Shore Conference. He returns for the Knights in 2019 with 119 wins.
Senior Jack Kelly had his career come to an end in AC. Kelly leaves the Knights with 123 career wins, a 2-time State Qualifier, a Region Championship, and a 4-time District Medal winner, including a pair of championships.

Wall took a huge hit to graduation, with last year's talented senior class that crowned four District Champs that all advanced to AC, having moved on. As a result, the Knights will be undergoing a bit of a rebuild this season. The good news is that numbers are way up for the program, but there are only 2 juniors and 1 senior in the room among a huge number of underclassmen.
The strength of the Knight's lineup lies in the middle. Junior Robert Kanniard, who placed 4th in the State last year at 152, had after a terrific off season that saw him win a Super 32 Title this summer. Jack Kelly is the lone senior in the room. The Region 6 runner-up at 145 a year ago, he enters the year 18 wins shy of 100, and will be looked to provide the veteran leadership for the very young room. With all the big names in the lineup last season, Shane Golomb's solid rookie season may have been overlooked. A 20-bout winner, and a District medalist, he should get a lot more attention this season. Among the many newcomers to the lineup, Jake Whitworth has a ton of potential. A Tri-County Champ at the intermediate level, getting to roll with Kanniard in the wrestling room every day will be a huge plus as he looks to make an immediate impact in the lineup.
As for the rest of the lineup, it is going to be young all over, with several newcomers battling to get time in the lineup. While the upperweights will have the most new faces taking over for the starters lost to graduation, the Knights will return some experience down low in Cole Meyer, Tyler Ferris, and Jacob Glantzman, who will all be looking to take it to the next level after getting a year under their belts.
With so many young guys in the room, this a clear rebuilding year for the Knights. The goal will to be get better and better as the year goes on, and set themselves up for bigger things as a dual team down the road. Individually, we focus on the the big two hammers in the middle of the lineup, while keeping an eye on the development of the youngsters. Kelly will be looking to cap his career with a return trip to Boardwalk Hall, and will vie for a spot on the podium to close out his senior year. After a 4th place finish his sophomore year, Kanniard has put the work in to stake his claim as a legit contender for a State Title.
