2010-2011 Preview
Head Coach: Brian Fischer (3rd Season)
The Knights return eight double digit winners from last year's 16-win team, including a pair of Region medalists in junior Steve Biserta (4th) and senior Andrew Marr (1st). Numbers are up for the program this year and there is a talented group of freshmen that could develop nicely. While the losses of Brad Woszczak and Brent Hasko to graduation will sting a little, there's enough returning talent, depth, and improvement that could see the Knights top last year's win total.
Down Low (103-140): Biserta, who in addition to his Region medal also claimed the District 23 championship at 112 last season, is the anchor down low. Double digit winners sophomore Dan Kinsella, junior Max McClelland, and senior Mark Vinges will help provide experience to the lineup as Coach Fischer puts in a couple new starters in the bottom half. Wall will also be boosted by the return of junior kevin Seidel who missed all of the 2010 season.
Up Top (145-Hwt): Marr, the District 23 & Region 6 champion as well as a 7th place finisher at the NJSIAA Tournament, is a flat out stud and gives Wall a hammer in the uppers. He'll have a solid returning cast around him including fellow seniors Pete Kinsella, Mark Donner, and Colin Egan who all put up double digit wins in 2010. Junior heavyweight Don Hamill showed good potential last season and could have a breakout year.
Wrestler To Watch: (Sr) Andrew Marr
If it weren't for some guy named Campolattano from Bound Brook, Marr could be considered one of the favorites to claim the 215-pound crown. Coming off a terrific 2010 campaign, Marr put the work in this off-season and should be a strong favorite to retain his crown at 215 and climb higher up the Boardwalk Hall podium in 2011.
