3/7: Marr Places 7th In Atlantic City
Junior Andrew Marr wrestled his way to a 7th-place finish at this year's NJSIAA Championships. Marr, who went 3-2 in AC, finishes the year with a record of 33-6. In addition to his 7th-place medal at States, he was also the Region 6 and District 23 champion.

Junior Andrew Marr defeated Brick Memorial's Billy Miller in overtime, to wrestle his way from the #3 seed to the very top of the podium at the Region 6 Tournament on Saturday. With the win, Marr receives a bye into the pre-quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Championships in Atlantic City.
Joining Marr will be senior Brad Woszczak who placed 3rd in the 171-pound weight class. Woszczak was 3-1 on the day with his lone loss coming to eventual champion Bryan Sternlieb of Toms Reiver East, 9-6. Woszczak recovered from the loss by defeating Dylan Kelly of Point Beach and Mike Barone of Toms River North to claim the 3rd place medal and a spot in the State Tournament.
Sophomore Steve Biserta finished one win shy of joining Marr and Woszcak in Atlantic City, dropping a 5-3 decision to Zach Torchia of Middletown North.

Steve Biserta, Brad Woszczak, Andrew Marr, and Colin Egan won their respective weight classes, and Mark Donner and Andrew Marr placed 2nd, as Wall finished 3rd as a team at this year's District 23 Tournament at Brick Memorial.
Wall's four champions receive byes into Friday night's quarterfinal round of the Region 6 Tournament, while Donner will be in action on Tuesday night for the opening round at the Ritacco Center against Ken Dougherty of Toms River North.

2010 Season Preview
Head Coach: Brian Fischer (2nd Season / 13-8)
Wall lost 141 wins to graduation, but a strong cast returns and several talented freshmen are also on board as the Knights look to keep their place as one of the Shore's top programs.
With the losses of Nick DeLisa, Mike Tancredi, and Frank Labrusciano to graduation, Wall will have to do some rebuilding below. Freshman Drew Donner and Donnie Keller were Monmouth County Champions at the Intermediate level last season, while Dan Kinsella was a runner-up. They could be just a few of several newcomers that join the lower half of the lineup that will return 24-match winner Steve Biserta and double digit winners Brent Hasko and Pete Kinsella.
Up top, Brad Woszczak is the veteran of the bunch compiling 61 wins and two District medals in his first three years as a starter. He'll provide the senior leadership that includes juniors Colin Egan and Andrew Marr who missed much of last season with an injury.

Wrestler To Watch - (Jr) Andrew Marr
Marr had a very impressive freshman season in 2008 by recording 22 wins in the upperclassmen dominated 171-pound weight class. His season ended in mid January of last season after suffering an injury. He's healthy and figures to be at 189 this season where he will be a very important part of the Knight's lineup going back to back with Woszczak as the team breaks in several newcomers around them. He's capable of some really big things in 2010.
DESPO's Outlook
There's a nice mix here of experience and youth, and plenty of talent to go around. Those looking for a big dropoff from Wall as a result of their losses to graduation may be pretty surprised on how good this lineup can be. The Knights will once again rack up the team wins and could very well break into the Top 10. Winning a Sectional may be tough with South Plainfield now in CJG3, but don't be surprised if the Knights make the final. They also should have a very solid showing at the Districts and push a healthy number of guys to the Regions.
